Kidpower Vancouver is committed to empowering people of all ages and abilities to stay safe, act wisely, and believe in themselves
Kidpower Vancouver is a registered non-profit society in British Columbia and a local centre for Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower International

We all appreciate the value of Water Safety Skills - setting a good example by wearing a life jacket, knowing how to swim, swimming in pairs and having a lifeguard.

We all appreciate the value of Bike Safety Skills - teaching our kids about, and personally adhering to the rules of the road, and making sure they wear a helmet.

We all appreciate the value of Road Safety Skills - not stepping out from between parked cars, using the crosswalk, and looking both ways before crossing the street.

This does not mean that we need to fear, or teach our children to fear the water, bike paths, or the road, but it does mean we recognize the need to provide some essential instruction to keep them safe.

At Kidpower Vancouver we teach kids, teens, and adults - all ages - People Safety Skills.

At KIDPOWER Vancouver we emphasize every day safety skills, ways to recognize, avoid, and de-escalate trouble before it becomes a big problem. We also teach how to escape from trouble in the unusual cases where awareness and avoidance are not enough. Finally, we believe that there are rare situations when escape might require the use of physical self defense skills as a last resort.

We strive to teach these things to people of all ages in an environment that is relaxed, friendly, and fun.

You and your family can learn simple, effective personal safety and boundary setting skills that will prevent most bullying, molestation, assault and abduction. Knowing these skills increases most people’s belief in themselves as being powerful, competent and valuable individuals.

Believing yourself to be strong, capable and important is the most important personal safety skill you have - and is also essential for being able to advocate for yourself effectively in most situations. The skills children and adults learn in our workshops also can help them to get along better with friends and family in every day situations.
